CGU students supported by SSEPL Skills have won BRICS Future Skills Challenge 2020 Championship in 4 Future Skills

We are extremely delighted to inform you that C.V. Raman Global University students and their mentors participated in BRICS Future Skills Challenge 2020 which was held from 9th to 15th November 2020 in a remote hybrid format wherein Competition Management Centers are located on educational distributed venues, competitors and experts work from the distributed venues or from home. The WorldSkills Russia team has conducted this Future Skills Challenge in virtual mode from Moscow.

BRICS Future Skills Challenge 2020 was held in 19 Future Skills which are mentioned below: There were over 300 active participants from 5 Nations in these Skills.

We at C. V. Raman Global University are continuously working towards getting aligned not only to WorldSkills but also to Future Skills and start building our in-house capabilities. We strongly believe that due to the transforming economy the demand for Future Skills is growing every year, mass training in these areas can be a challenge for Education and Industry in the short term. By participating in these skills we get the right exposure and knowledge to mitigate this challenge to a great extent over a period of time.

We took our first step in this direction by participating in the online Future Skills Boot camp which was conducted by WorldSkills Russia from 23rd June to 30th August 2020. Several countries from Worldwide participated in this boot camp including students and mentors from C.V. Raman. Our students and Mentors attended the Future Skills Boot camp which was conducted by WorldSkills Russia from 23rd June to 30th August 2020. This Boot camp learnings and exposure to students and mentors has given us a lot of confidence in participating in BRICS Future Skills Challenge 2020 Championship.

CGU students supported by their mentors participated in 6 Future Skills and have won the Best of the Nation in 4 Skills as mentioned below. We participated in BRICS Future Skills Championship 2020 for the first time and our students have made a very encouraging start in this international platform where students from 5 Countries, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa participated. The problem statements/tasks given by the experts were of a high level of difficulty making the competition very challenging for all the participants. The solutions of the participants were evaluated by a Chief Expert and other experts from BRICS countries and they followed the marking scheme format of WorldSkills.

This participation has given us the unique opportunity of getting exposed to sharing best practices, training, and networking. We strongly believe that over a period of time it will contribute to the Future Skills development, new formats of cooperation, basic, intermediary and advance training modules of Future Skills programs will be developed as well as launch new Digital Services and platforms.
